The Hotel's Terms and Conditions
(a) We ask that guests abide by the Hotel's Terms and Conditions to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests. Guests who fail to abide by these rules may be refused further lodging or use of the hotel's facilities. Such guests may also be asked to pay for any damage caused to fixtures or equipment within the hotel.
(b) By proceeding with the reservation, you further agree and acknowledge that if the reservation is accepted by the Hotel, your stay subsequently shall be subject to the Hotel’s Terms and Conditions herein in respect of their reservation / stay at the Hotel.
(c) You further agree that the Terms and Conditions as provided on the Hotel's website www.gardenparkresort.com shall constitute the binding agreement between yourself and The Garden Park Island Resort in relation to any and all commercial arrangement including reservation, stay, payment, usage of facilities, etc. of whatsoever nature.
(d) The Hotel may, at its absolute discretion, cancel the reservation if the Hotel is of the opinion that the reservation information provided is falsified or incomplete.
(e) The hotel reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. In the event that any changes are made, the revised terms and conditions shall be posted on this website immediately. Please check the latest information posted herein to inform yourself of any changes.
Booking / Reservation
(a) You must be at least 18 years old to make a booking with us.
(b) You will be assigned a Booking ID / Reservation Number when your date(s) is confirmed by us.
PLEASE NOTE
* The Booking ID / Reservation Number is valid for 12 hours from the time of issuance. We encourage guests to finalize their reservation by making full payment to secure a room.
* Expiration of the Booking ID / Reservation Number cannot be renewed. Should you wish to continue with your booking after the expiration, a new Booking ID / Reservation Number will be assigned to you. This is subject to the availability of rooms.
(c) If there is a mistake in your reservation or if you require any changes to a confirmed reservation, please contact us.
(d) Bookings maybe amended subject to the availability of rooms
(e) Bookings maybe transferable and amendable. This is subject to the availability of rooms.
(f) You are booking your stay with us wholly or mainly for your personal use (not for use in connection with your trade, business, craft or profession or use the Hotel premises for business purposes without permission from the management of the Hotel).
No Smoking
The Hotel is a NO SMOKING facility. This includes e-cigarettes, heat-not-burn-tobacco, etc. The Hotel reserves the right to evict guests who smoke in its facility.
How to Secure a Reservation
(a) You must make full payment in advance to secure a reservation.
(b) Please check that the details of your reservation are complete and accurate before you confirm your reservation. We will not be liable for any delay or non-performance if you provide us with incorrect information
Payment
(a) Room prices are per room, per night for 2 persons and are inclusive of VAT and other charges at the applicable rate at the time of your reservation.
(b) For all Bookings, full payment of the booking fees will be required at the time of booking to secure the room. These payments are non-refundable.
(c) The resort does not accept payment by cheques
Check-In & Out (Arrival & Departure)
(a) Check In: You may check in from 3pm on the first day of your booking. If you intend to arrive early for check in or after 10pm, you should inform us about it.
(b) Check Out: All rooms must be vacated (and room keys returned to us) by no later than 10:30am on the day your booking ends. If you intend to have a late check out , you should inform us about it in advance.
(c) Please note that during some of our busiest periods, there may be a wait at check-in.
Room occupancy
(a) The maximum room occupancy is 2 adults
(b) You are required to state the number of guests who will be staying in each room when submitting a booking request. You may not later increase the number of guests allocated to a booking unless we agree.
(c) You must not exceed the maximum occupancy of the room allocated to you. We reserve the right to check room occupancy during your stay. Children under 18 are not permitted to stay in our hotel unless a parent or guardian is staying in the hotel with them.
(d) We reserve the right to change the room allocated to you at check-in for a room of an equivalent standard or a higher standard. We may require you to move rooms at any point during your stay for any reason for another room or an equivalent standard or a higher standard and we will not need to compensate you for this.
(e) Pets are not permitted in the resort
Cancellation / No-Show / Alterations
Late cancellations and no-shows really affect our business; therefore our cancellation policy is as follows:
(a) For all Cancellations and No-Shows, your deposit will be retained. This deposit is non-refundable.
(b) If you decide to shorten your stay, the whole reservation becomes non-refundable, non-transferable and non-amendable.
(c) Any request to add rooms or to add nights to an existing booking will be treated as a new separate booking request. This is subject to the availability of rooms.
(d) Any request to remove rooms or nights from an existing booking will be treated as cancellation
(e) Bookings amended for extended stay will be considered as a new booking and is subject to the availability of rooms.
Children & Infants
(a) Children and infants of all ages are welcome to the resort.
(b) Children and infants below the ages of 18 years must be accompanied by a parent(s), a guardian or adult(s) capable of supervising them.
(c) The resort does not offer babysitting, child support or child supervision services. The responsibility of child supervision and monitoring falls on parent(s),
caregivers, accompanying adults, a guardian and teachers.
(d) It is the responsibility of parents, caregivers, accompanying adults, a guardian and teachers to continually and at all times supervise and monitor children activities in their care whilst at the resort.
(e) Personnel of the resort are NOT authorized to accept or assume caregiver or oversight responsibility of children and infants. Accordingly, the resort will not be liable for any supervisory neglect of children and infants.
Prohibited Swimming in the Volta Lake
(a) Swimming in the open river or strolling close anywhere around the precincts of the island Hotel is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. The waters of the Volta Lake are filled with beauty, danger and adventure. Though breathtaking, it's also a deadly mass of water if one dares to swim in it.
(b) The Volta lake has unpredictably deep depths, strong under currents and sudden drop-offs especially along the shorelines that take even experienced swimmers and divers by surprise. Most drown and disappear forever needlessly. The waters are also filled with large boulders and tree stumps at various areas and are prone to freak waves that capsize boats.
(c) Though the Volta Lake is breathtaking, it is also an incredibly dangerous body of water and should be enjoyed from a safe distance.
Despite the Hotel’s deterrent initiatives and cautionary notices around its precincts and shorelines, guests are therefore advised NOT TO APPROACH OR STROLL AROUND THE SHORELINES OR ENGAGE IN SWIMMING ACTIVITIES IN THE LAKE. The Hotel will not be liable for any acts regarding incidents at its shorelines or swimming in the Volta Lake.
Sailing on the Hotel’s Pontoon Boats
(a) The resort supplies life jackets (various sizes) to guests whilst onboard its pontoon boats. Life jackets are mandatory wear for all guests including children and infants.
Please Note: For the safety of our guests and crew, it's important that guests wear the mandatory life jackets whilst onboard its boats and to remain seated until disembarkation.
(b) The Resort's pontoon boats will not set sail unless all passengers are safely seated on embarkation and have been securely fastened with a life jacket.
(c) Passengers who have reservations or refuse to abide with regards to the use of the mandatory life jackets will not be permitted to board our boats.
(d) Notwithstanding the dangers, hazards, and risks involved in sailing on the Volta Lake, the Hotel will not be responsible or liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident or delay which may be caused by guests' not complying with the proper use of the mandatory life jackets.
The Hotel’s Right to Evict Guests
The Hotel may evict guests or terminate the accommodation agreement in the following cases:
(a) When the guest is deemed likely to break the law, disrupt public order, or act contrary to public morals, or has engaged in such acts, during their stay.
(b) When the guest is deemed to fall under any of the following categories(1) to(3):
1. An organized crime group or a member, associate member, or affiliate of an organized crime group or any other antisocial force
2. When the guest(s) is involved in corporations or other organizations whose operations are controlled by an organized crime group.
3. When any of the directors of the guest(s) corporation is classified as a member of an organized crime group
(c) When the guest’s behavior poses a significant nuisance to other guests.
(d) When the guest clearly has a contagious disease.
(e) When the guest uses violence, threats, blackmail, or intimidation to make unjust or unreasonable demands against the hotel or its employees, or is deemed to have engaged in any similar acts in the past.
(f) When the guest cannot be accommodated due to force majeure.
(g) When the guest is intoxicated, exhibits or has exhibited extremely abnormal behavior that may pose a nuisance to other guests, or in cases that fall under the provisions of prefectural ordinances.
(h) When the guest smokes in bed, messes with firefighting equipment, or otherwise violates the Hotel Rules and Regulations(limited to fire-related regulations).
(i) When the guest conceals the fact that they have reserved a guestroom within the hotel for the purpose of making a profit, either for themselves or for a third party, by selling goods, etc.
(j) When the hotel cancels the accommodation agreement in accordance with the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the guest will not be charged for services not yet provided.
Lost Personal Possessions
(a) The management and staff work hard to provide a safe and secure environment. We do everything possible to ensure a secure environment is maintained and we ask that our guests do also. The Hotel takes no responsibility for any personal possessions that are lost, stolen or misplaced whilst on the premises due to the acts and omissions of the guests themselves.
(b) Lost property found on the premises is logged and kept in a secure location for a period of three (3) months. Thereafter items are either disposed of or donated to charity. The Hotel accepts no responsibility for contacting individuals in relation to lost property. Perishable items retrieved from rooms after check out are only held until close of business that day.
(c) Claimed items can be collected from the hotel with valid identification or alternatively the hotel can arrange postage on behalf of the guest at their expense.
GENERAL PROVISIONS
(a) We do our best to ensure reservation arrangements are satisfactory, however, the Hotel does not accept any liability for any loss financial or otherwise, travel delay, injury, damage, additional expenses or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by any events which are beyond our control. These include, but not limited to, flight delays or cancellations, civil disturbance, defects in vehicles, strikes, theft, acts of terrorism, natural disaster, war, fire, floods, acts of God, acts of Government or of any other authorities, changes to Government regulations, accident to or failure of machinery or equipment, maintenance requirements or industrial action.
(b) You shall indemnify and hold the Hotel harmless in respect of any liability, loss, damage, cost and expense of any nature arising out of, and/or in connection with the acceptance of the reservation and your stay in the Hotel.
(c) The Hotel shall not be liable for any losses, damages, costs or expenses incurred by you as a result of any cancellation of the reservation by the Hotel.
(d) The Hotel does not accept any liability for any failure by the Hotel to comply with these conditions where such failure is due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
